Biography
Rukaj Gallery is pleased to represent Shawn Evans. Evans is a Canadian painter who's iterative practice explores colour relationships and the formal notions of pictorial depth and the picture plane through the lens of the landscape tradition. Moving from an abstract lexicon, his practice recalls the masterworks of Canadian art history, such as David Milne and Tom Thompson. Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan,  Evans moved to Calgary to attend the Alberta University of the Arts. His work is in the permanent collections of  The Esker Foundation, Air Canada and The Bank of Montreal.
