: Established 1981

For over four decades, Rukaj Gallery has specialized in influential artists of the Post-War period. With a principal focus in Post-War Abstraction and Color Field, foremost artists include Friedel Dzubas, Kenneth Noland, and William Perehudoff. The gallery’s participation in leading art fairs as well as collaborations with prominent museums has facilitated presentations of important works to broader audiences, reinforcing our dedication to art education and public engagement. Rukaj is committed to the advocacy and recognition of artists historically marginalized within dominant art historical narratives. This initiative aims to facilitate critical engagement, institutional support, and sustained visibility for their work within the broader frameworks of cultural discourse and historical understanding. The gallery’s expansion of Rukaj Contemporary & Editions exhibits some of today’s most significant artists and estates. With an emphasis on editioned work and high-contemporary programming, prominent artists include Alex Katz, Robert Longo, and Malcolm Liepke. Represented artists are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum (New York, NY); Solomon R. Guggenheim (New York, NY), MoMA (New York, NY); the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC); MOCA (Los Angeles, CA): High Museum of Art (Atlanta, GA) ; National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa, ON) ; Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto, ON) among others. Our main space is located on street level, wheelchair accessible via ramp.

The gallery is a longstanding member of the Art Dealers Association of Canada.
