ANDRE BRASILIER was born in 1929 in Saumur, Anjou, France. Brasilier’s parents were also painters and at an early age,he showed natural inclination for painting.
At 23, he received the Grand Prix de Rome. This was the time when he definitely entered the Paris artistic life, being host of many exhibitions in France as well as abroad.
Brasilier spent more than half a century creating canvasses that are a blend of abstraction and expressionism. His works often feature themes and motifs like horses, nature, music, and women. He was recently the subject of an retrospective exhibition at St. Petersburg, Russia’s renowned Hermitage Museum.
