Robert Gwathmey was an American artist, born in Manchester, VA, USA, and based in New York, NY and Amagansett, Long Island, NY, USA.

 

Today, his work is collected by Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Whitney Museum of American Art, National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., Hirschhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Dallas Museum of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Moderna Museet, Stockholm, among others.
